A fictional miniseries based on the life of Ayrton Senna da Silva, the Brazilian racing legend who won the Formula One Drivers’ Championship. Three-time champion. She was based on journalists who covered Ayrton Senna’s career.
She is also fluent in Brazilian Portuguese
Additionally, Scoledario’s family is Brazilian, from Senna’s home state of São Paulo. Senna’s early races in England are shown on a track near a mountain range. There are no mountains in England – especially not in Norfolk, which is known for its flat landscape.
ok, the positives first
I call this show Life Comics FW16 because it’s so good like Senna killing the car, but, erm… On the whole, they corrected Senna’s uncompromising nature, particularly by illustrating his group’s principles. Excitement The attention to detail was brilliant; Watching the MP4/4s race sent chills down my spine, but the shot of Senna alone in the debriefing room at the end of ‘Suzuka’ perfectly captures the 1989 ITV footage.
I agree, but so what?
I saw another commentator say their story was one-sided. Fans who followed the shenanigans from 1989 to 1993 will be familiar with the French connection, if they didn’t quite believe the gospel truth. This is clearly a show for Senna fans, not Balestre apologists.
However, there are a few things copywriters can focus on: 1) Senna’s personal relationships with the likes of Gerhard Berger and Josef Leberer
It goes a long way to humanising him; 2) They could have paid more attention to the work Senna did in developing the car – he has a reputation for giving feedback to his mechanics until they’re asked to go home; And 3) Donington 1993 – I can’t believe they completely missed the greatest single lap in all of F1 history.
