Crazy cartoon starring AniMat: Silly Old Deadly Bear (2022)
Narrative
Four children on their home planet make a mysterious discovery that leaves them lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Jude Law in "Skeleton Crew" plus other stars from a galaxy far, far away. The holographic circus that entertains Neal’s little siblings is the same Chewbacca family clock in the infamous The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978).
A suburb in space?
The show felt unoriginal and played on too many tropes. Can’t we at least come up with something solarpunk? Initially, Star Wars drew me in for the magic, the mystery, and the lore.
Something surprising that challenged convention
I don’t need endless shows for Disney to profit from every corner of the galaxy. The shows are getting more and more bland and predictable. Maybe it’s not apples to apples, but The Penguin was such a fantastic introduction to the Batman universe because it showed us something new.
It’s been so boring lately
I’d love to see Star Wars give us something bold (new cinematography, new writers, etc.). If I need a nostalgic hit, I’ll go watch The Goonies.. "One Hundred Years of Solitude" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres of the month.
