A marriage is in jeopardy when a man’s first love returns to town. The main problem with this year’s PÖLP is that there were so few screenings of classic films, much less than planned for PÖLP 2023. .I was torn as a viewer by the many green hands of new films that play with concepts and techniques, but with few eye-openers and invigorating works. The lack of classic, tried-and-tested films means my nerves lack spice.
