This is a great movie
Narrative
During the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, Germany, an American sports broadcast team must adapt to live coverage of Israeli athletes being held hostage by a terrorist group. We saw it at a secret movie night at Cinemark, and it was one of the best we’ve seen.
The movie opens with actual footage from the 1972 Munich Olympics
I’m old enough to remember the Black September terrorist attacks, but not the details. The movie quickly shifts focus to the hostage situation and the terrorist situation, and how the ABC Sports crew covered the events.
When the story turns to these events, it’s non-stop action and suspense
It was very interesting to see the control room and the technical aspects involved in producing a live TV show, especially when all the action is starting to happen. It’s designed to be a thoughtful look at the politics and ethics while looking at the changing landscape.
Some undercover movies aren’t worth $5
Although the theater had comfortable, reclining seats, I was on the edge of my seat for most of the movie. This movie is worth the full price of admission.
