Paul King, the director of the previous two films, decided not to direct this installment
Paddington returns to Peru to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who now lives at Bear’s grandparents’ house. Led by the Brown family, they embark on a thrilling adventure when a mystery takes them on an unexpected journey. However, he came up with the idea for this third film and served as an executive producer.
Paddington in Peru is a pretty amazing, albeit unremarkable, film
Graham Norton and guests: Billy Crystal / Emily Mortimer / Hugh Bonneville / Pharrell Williams / Michael Kiwanuka (2024). Sure, it doesn’t quite reach the heights of Paddington 2, but it’s probably on par with the first one. With a different director at the helm, this film also takes a different angle, taking the action outside of London and into the jungles of Peru.
It makes for a reasonably interesting story that flows quite well and keeps a decent pace
This is probably a wise choice, as it helps the film feel fresh and different compared to the other two. It also makes room for a slightly different story, perhaps one that is more adventurous and interesting. The humor is a bit average, but it’s definitely more geared towards kids, so it’s more reflective of my age.
It’s nice and gentle
I also think the emotional side is a bit lacking. I remember Paddington 2 making me cry, but this one is a bit more gentle. I think that word sums up this movie.
Everything about Paddington 2 is a bit toned down, but it’s still enjoyable and enjoyable
