starring Michael Fassbender, Jodie Turner-Smith, Richard Gere and more
Narrative
It follows a world of even deeper intrigue and trickery, as the characters fight their own battles while battling existential threats to the nation and the world. From X-Men: First Class and "The Acolyte" to The Cotton Club, check out the TV and film roles of "The Agency". This is the third time Fassbender and Waterson have worked together. They both starred in Steve Jobs, Alien: Covenant and The Agency.
During a conversation with Dr
Blake during The Martian, she incorrectly explains "OBE" as “Overtaken by Events.” In the U.S. government agencies, including the intelligence community and the Department of Defense, "OBE" is “Overcome by Events.” Starring Graham Norton and Guests: Cher/Keira Knightley/Michael Fassbender/Josh Brolin/Jalen Ngonda (2024). As "The Agency" (2024 UK release; 10 episodes 50-60 minutes) opens, we are introduced to Marsan, a CIA operative who is unexpectedly called back to London after 6 years in Africa. When he arrives at his new London apartment, he discovers that there are bugging devices everywhere.
At this point we are 10 minutes into episode 1
We then go to Belarus, where a clearly drunk man gets into his car and, after being chased by Belarusian police, crashes, but survives. A few notes: this miniseries is based on the hugely successful former French TV series "Le Bureau des Legendes". This is the latest film from Oscar-winning British director Joe Wright (“Darkest Hour”). As Part 1 unfolded, there was A LOT going on (at least 3 parallel storylines) and it took me a while to see and understand the bigger picture.
The remaining 8 episodes will be released weekly on Sunday nights
By the time we got to Episode 2, I was completely engrossed in it, as there was tension and drama everywhere. This mini-series benefits greatly from the excellent leading performance of Michael Fassbender (The Martian). By the end of Part 2, I was (and am) ready for more. The first 2 episodes started streaming on SHO a few days ago.
I can’t wait!
If you’re looking for a top-notch CIA spy thriller, or are simply a Michael Fassbender fan, I recommend you watch it and draw your own conclusions.
