While it’s good practice to split scripts and libraries, Python has an idiom that makes it possible to treat a module as both a script and a library at the same time. As noted earlier, the value of the special __name__ module variable is set at runtime based on whether the module is imported or run as a script. While it’s a good idea to separate scripts and libraries, all Python files can be both executed and imported. In a later section, you’ll learn more about how to create modules that handle both well.
In this context, a resource is any file located within an importable package. The file may or may not correspond to a physical file on the file system. The problem is that by starting the app with cli.py, you’ve changed the location of the current script, which in turn changes the import path.
Countries may also import raw materials or commodities that are not available within their borders. For example, many countries import oil because they cannot produce it domestically or cannot produce enough to meet demand. The photos and videos that you keep in iCloud Photos use your iCloud storage. Before you turn on iCloud Photos, make sure that you have enough space in iCloud to store your entire collection.
Companies import products that are not available in the local market. A country has demand for an import when the price of the good (or service) on the world market is less than the price on the domestic market. Proponents say imports enhance the quality of life by providing consumers with greater choice and cheaper goods; the availability of these cheaper goods also help to prevent rampant inflation. Countries are most likely to import goods or services that their domestic industries cannot produce as efficiently or cheaply as the exporting country.

The Colab notebook environment is great for doing cooperative data exploration. You implement get_serializer() using call_factory() since that will automatically instantiate each serializer. With this refactoring, the serializers work just the same as earlier. However, you have more flexibility in naming your serializer classes.
Module namespace object
Note that both of these classes implement the same interface with .start_object(), .add_property(), and .__str__() methods. Relative imports must be in the form from…import, and the location you’re importing from must start with a dot. Handle Packages Across Python Versions
It is initialized from the PYTHONPATHenvironment variable and various other installation- andimplementation-specific defaults. Only strings should be present onsys.path; all other data types are ignored. The find_module() method on path entry finders is deprecated,as it does not allow the path entry finder to contribute portions tonamespace packages. If both find_loader() and find_module()exist on a path entry finder, the import system will always callfind_loader() in preference to find_module(). The path based finder iterates over every entry in the search path, andfor each of these, looks for an appropriate path entry finder(PathEntryFinder) for thepath entry.
8. Special considerations for __main__¶
You can add these videos to iTunes to play them in the correct orientation. You can import photos and videos to your Mac by connecting your device to your Mac. However, if you use iCloud Photos, then you don’t need to import. With the Photos app and a USB cable, you can transfer photos and videos to your computer.

Depending on your application, this may or may not be critical. With serializers implemented as a namespace package, you had the ability to add custom serializers. In the original example from a previous tutorial, the serializers were made available through a serializer factory. Remember, when distributing your package, you’re not even guaranteed that resource files will exist as physical files on the file system.
This sets Python apart from many other programming languages in which packages merely act as namespaces without enforcing how the source code is organized. PEP 451 adds the encapsulation of per-module import state in specobjects. It also off-loads most of the boilerplate responsibilities ofloaders back onto the import machinery. These changes allow thedeprecation of several APIs in the import system and also addition of newmethods to finders and loaders. When Python is started with the -m option, __spec__ is setto the module spec of the corresponding module or package. __spec__ isalso populated when the __main__ module is loaded as part of executing adirectory, zipfile or other sys.path entry.
If you have iCloud Photos turned on, you need to download the original, full resolution versions of your photos to your iPhone or iPad before you import to your PC. Dynamic module import is not permitted in all execution contexts. For example, import() can be used in the main thread, a shared worker, or a dedicated worker, but will throw if called within a service worker or a worklet. The static form is preferable for loading initial dependencies, and can benefit more readily from static analysis tools and tree shaking. As JSON is often read only by machines, many JSON files aren’t formatted in a readable fashion. In fact, it’s quite common for JSON files to consist of one very long line of text.
The main advantage of this is that you can distribute a full package as a single file. A third, related example is adding a package that provides a nice-to-have feature that’s not strictly necessary for your app. Again, this can be solved by adding try…except to your imports.
In general, CSV field names can contain spaces and other characters that aren’t allowed in Python attribute names. Before adding the fields as attributes on the module, you sanitize the field names using a regular expression. Even though you’re importing only csv, that module is importing re behind the scenes, so an error is raised. The DebugFinder prints a message to the console and then explicitly returns None to indicate that other finders should figure out how to actually import the module. One application that uses plugins effectively is the Glue exploratory visualization tool. However, if your data format isn’t supported, then you can write your own custom data loader.
