Jude Law in "Skeleton Crew" and more stars from a galaxy far, far away
Narrative
Four kids make a mysterious discovery on their home planet that leads them to become lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. The holographic circus that entertains Neel’s little siblings is the same one Chewbacca’s family watches in the infamous The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978).

Okay, as exciting as it is these days to get new Star Wars content, I’ll always feel grateful to give it a chance and after the first episode of Skeleton Crew, here’s what I found good… and what I found BAD. The Good:A look at the roof of a spaceship in the opening scene, like the rebel soldier in A New HopeThe view from above over the suburbs that takes me back to Spielberg family movies from the early 80sThe Raleigh Burner-style filler on the Kids SpeederOne of the kids playing Charlie Sheen’s role in the police station scene from Ferris Buellers Day OffThe general boring and normal mess of everyday life in the galaxyThe BadThe rest, it’s not a single original idea or brief thought that hasn’t been done better in a movie like Explorers, E.T, Flight of the Navigator even, it’s a poorly acted Strangers Things clone, it looks a bit cheap, Star Wars is mostly forced into an 80s kids adventure movie.
And isn’t that really the point?
Again with Disney’s Star Wars, which is getting further and further away from its actual audience, but… If I was 10 years old again, all of these complaints would be irrelevant and I’d think this was the best thing I’ve seen in a long time.
